WAKING UP IS HARD TO DO- APOLOGIES TO NEIL SEDAKA

A brief check-in . I am keeping records of my blood pressure and heart rate for my physician which I am soon losing.

Even though a tedious task, patterns evolve; I am no exception. My readings are significantly higher in the morning than the evening.

As commonly said the word 'medicine' is not preceded by the phrase, 'the practice of' facetiously. One of the modern marvels of pharmaceuticals is the 12-hour and 24-hour duration of action medications. But do they really?

The current thinking with me is the medications are lasting more like 16 hours. So we have added additional dosage in the evening, but the medication time  has not been nailed down exactly.

Things are somewhat better; a specialist being established for me with a very impressive sub-speciality name: electro-physiology cardiologist.

The very best news came from my oncologist who declared me the only 15 year survivor of kidney cancer he had known. There are probably others, so I am grateful but not boastful.

ENJOY THE COOLER WEATHER. We had nearly an inch of rain yesterday afternoon!

I have always been a hit-the-floor-running person in my younger years, but no more. YEAH! Waking Up Is Hard to Do!

I have to agree with you that waking up is hard to do especially after spending most of the night trying to get to sleep.

Reading that you are a cancer survivor has made my day. I am so glad you won that battle. Wonderful news.

Glad to hear things are some better with you too and I am going to keep praying they just keep getting better and better.

Thank you for commenting on my posts.

That tune will be running through my head all day.

You WILL get through this too---I just know!!

Kylee loves her truck that's for sure but it shares top place with Macaronie--her horse.
BTW: She named her truck Rhonda. MB

I could just hug you you survivor you! Like you I wonder at the medicines I take...one to bring my b/p up and another to bring my heart rate down...extended release or twice a day? But, since we're both still here, could be someone is doing something right, hey? Keep up the good survival fight!

I wish I had the problem of waking up.. first I will need to fall asleep. That eludes me more often
than not...2 hours a day broken
into two or three segments is my
average...I can thank 25 years of
night shift for that.

You are quite the survivor...
congrats.

Congrats big time on that 15 year "all clear." Just wonderful news. You would get a standing "O" from my group.
That new doc has an impressive title. Hope he can get your meds adjusted properly. Sometimes I feel we are just over medicated and that they do more harm than good. I know, a bad thing to say to a retired pharmacist.
Be much better soon.

I also have noticed that I haven't the get-up-and-get-her-done attitude I used to have. I still get up most mornings, but getting things done starts considerably later!

Blessings!

Congratulations on being a 15 year survivor of kidney cancer. That is terrific. Hope the blood pressure gets under control.

My doctor had me keep a watch for two weeks and chart it, the day, and time, then take the paper back to her. Along with my finger stick for sugar. Actually she hardly looked at it. So in other words keep doing what I've been doing. I told her I bought a new cuff blood pressure machine and apparently they don't like those as well. But the other hurts my upper arm so much that I felt like I had a sore spot in my arm pit after several days of checking it. Wrist one, to me is a lot better.

I'm still a wake up perky and hit the floor runnin' kinda of gal, but I have to admit the shingles did knock the wind out of my sails this summer.

Woohoo for you girl, you've been through the wringer and back then lived to thank God for blessing you.

You have a great day and a wonderful Labor Day weekend sweetie!!!

Loved that song in my youth!!! Funny thing...I always thought I'd sleep late once I retired. I just can't seem to get the hang of it though. I'm usually up between 7:00 and 7:30. Usually would be out for my a.m. walk by at least 7:30 but since I sprained my ankle 3 WEEKS AGO I haven't been able to walk...and I hate it!!!! Hope your health will improve each and every day!

Honey I hate your having problems and medical issues. I was hoping you were doing a lot better.
Good for you being a cancer survivor. It is always great to hear. I too am a survivor
Hard to believe the temps are in the 50's for you. We are still in the high 9o's and 70's in the mornings.
Keep in touch and I hope that each day is not hard to start..

Maggie
