Christmas Vacation - NOT

Since the bronchitis bug has struck again, I'm on sick leave to the sick bay (home) till improved + news of the Christmas Day death of my half brother has shocked me. According to all accounts he had just received a "clean bill of health" from the VA. I am beginning to think "clean bill of health" just means a person is still breathing.

So sorry to hear you're unwell, for that must make it twice as hard for you to cope with the sad news of your brother's death - a difficult thing to do even when you are feeling tip-top. I do hope you get better soon.

Thanks, Lakeviewer and jinksy.

Further information is he succumbed to a massive unexpected heart attack in bed, writing Christmas checks to his grandchildren.

Since we are both ill, and its over 500 mi. one-way we may not be able to attend the rites, certainly not driving.

Flying is such a hassle and you still are not safe. The attempted attack in Michigan this morning is indelibly etched in my memory.

We are waiting until Mon. a.m. to decide.

Oh, I am so sorry about your brother, Carol. My condolances to you and the family. May God comfort them in their great sorrow.

And I hope you will feel better soon. I just got out of the hospital myself. Had to receive 5 pints of blood! According to the doctor, he was surprised I was still among the living, having lost so much blood. So...old age brings some new health problems it seems.

Take good care!

Do take care of yourselves.
I'm sure Luckie is giving moral support, hope someone else is bringing the soup.
Be well soon, there is a New Year waiting with only good things for you.

NW-1,
Hope you are feeling better today, and wishing you a better New Year. My husband has a cold. I thought I did too yesterday, but after checking the pollen...I see it is just allergies.

I guarantee you...I'll be glad to see the end of '09 and hopefully 2010 will be better for all of us. However, we do still have a lot to be grateful for.
