This amazing archaeological excavation site is indescribable. At least 59 mammoths [in North America probably the woolly mammoth]  have been discovered and research is ongoing. Other  extinct animals and descendants of many species such as bears and rhinoceros have been found. The site was a sink hole at some point in the evolution of time and climate. The rim of the sink hole was identified and completely encapsulated with a building to protect the dig from further deterioration of climate changes. I have many amazing shots from the dig which is still in progress. Mammoth Site Link. There are many other links to mammoths on Internet.

That is awesome. When my dad was building air strips in Alaska during the war, they uncovered a Mastodon grave yard and for years I had a piece of the tusk. Dummy me lost it.
