hunder out of near-nothing clouds and the sun is shining. Thunder showers are in the forecast for today and also Friday, when I will driving home from Hot Springs. Luckie is under my footrest again.As a local elected official, I am invited twice a year to the Arkansas Municipal League winter conference in Little Rock and summer convention in Hot Springs.
Because information can be redundant I chose to attend one of the two events every other year. This is the year and I have chosen to go to the convention at Hot Springs.
A friend has been chosen by a Municipal League Planning Official to show a PowerPoint presentation of how our little city chose to re-write our comprehensive plan. I want to attend her workshop to support her.
She has worked hard as planning chairperson with little
support from citizens or city officials. I have an interest in planning and zoning which I may pursue when I am no longer alderman.Tomorrow I will have the forgotten pleasure of plundering through my closet for smaller sized, dressy clothes since I have lost 23.5 lbs. I have some nice things I haven't worn in a long time. They are still "fat" clothes but smaller than my current "fat" clothes; that's got to be progress!
Hopefully I won't fall too far off the diet wagon at convention; they surely do serve some scrumptious food. A lot of desserts are chocolate, so I give them to my friend. I am an odd ball not addicted to chocolate!
We are staying at the historic Arlington Hotel and Spa in the Bathhouse
District. I will have my notebook with me as the Hotel has wireless internet free, but not sure what kind of time I will have, as there are events both nights.There is no telling what tales I will have when I return.
So until Saturday I am AWOL!!!

Okay, now CONGRATS on the 23 (okay, 22 and change) pound weight loss! Great work...having lost that and a bit more in the past few weeks, I know how it feels to be able to fit into clothes once wished to the waste bin! Hope the convention goes well...

Way to go on losing so many pounds. I so understand the grading scale on "fat" clothes.

How wonderful to have the dilemma of having to find smaller clothes. Sorry to say I haven't had that challenge for a while! :(

I really like Hot Springs...I know it is little and I probably didn't see all of it. We did go to Gavan Gardens, I think that is the one. I LOVED that one and they have some fab bridges and the bones of the garden are good. We were there at the end of Nov. or early Dec. and not much blooming at that time, but I needed to be see it. The chapel in the garden is so beautiful and peaceful. I've driven all my friends nutz with the pictures.
I wish we had a boat. There are some lovely lakes around there, too. I'd like to go back to Mountain Home? Can't remember exactly what the name is. We were there many years ago and I enjoyed it a lot.
Poor Luckie...hope he hasn't been under your recliner for too long.

I hope you have a great time in Hot Springs. I used to attend the occasional hardware show with my parents in Hot Springs, and we stayed at the Arlington on several of those trips. It's such a beautiful old place. I remember a dangerously good pancake place pretty close by too...

One of my sons lives near Hot Springs, and has taken me there. It's quite a wonderful place to visit.
Great on losing the weight. I lost 30 pounds back in 2005, and never gained them back. But it takes an effort and will power.
Hope it's not too darn hot there today, because it is to be 95 here, but there is always air conditioning, to help one bear it.
