FIRST HARVEST

Roma Tomato - I
2010
Tuesday my husband presented me with the first tomato from his container garden. He had been inventorying his prospective produce.

Roma Tomato - II

Not only was it a tomato, it was a ROMA -- my favorite! He counted over 80 more tomatoes on his various plants. Several tiny green peppers are maturing and the green beans are beginning to show tiny green pods.

After hurriedly snapping photos, I ate the whole thing...

[Blogger is tricking me again. How on earth some pictures offset the frame is not my artistic prowess, it just seems to happen.]

The tomato is lovely. I would have
had a nice tomato sandwich out of that one !!

first harvest is why people garden in the first place---for me, I'm not sure if I could stand to have my harvest eaten. I resent the people who eat the birthday cakes I make them because I love them....if only life followed some logic!

You got tomatoes already? I'm jealous. Everything here is still cool and wet.

Lovely photos! I hope it tasted as good as it looked. I too have problems with blogger layouts. My text always winds up wacking out and I can't fix it without removign all the html coding and starting over. That is too much of a pain so I leave my text strewn (sp?) all over the page. Cest la vie. Your pictures are still gorgeous. Thanks.
